Copy my AI successes and avoid my mistakes

A hand tends four seedlings in terracotta pots while a bottle-fed drip system waters them.

For most of my working life I have worked as a freelancer, building other people's projects and handing them over. It was satisfying and it got me exposed to a lot of businesses, business leaders, triumphs and failures.

But of course my dream has always been to build something of my own. The building part has always come easy to me but the running of things i have built, not so much.

Small example - in 2023 as soon as chatgpt api opened up i created a Android and ios apps for recipes and meal plans (NAfya) - grew that to 4000+ registered users in less than a month...

But then I knew I would have to deal with customer support, new features and maintenance and all the work that comes with running a business - so I just abandoned the app.

I am also always looking for a new challenge. Of course this is no way to succeed in any sort of business. This is perhaps why being a gun for hire excited me so much, while the thought of hiring a team and managing them etc tired me out.

Anyway fast forward to today - and I think i can live my dream using AI agents to a great extent. This is what the experiment is about. A real life attempt at building and selling my own products with the help of AI tools.

This will also allow me to push these tools further than I ever could otherwise if I stuck at just using them at my day job, because over there, everything needs to be safe. But over here the cost of failing is quite low, for now.

Why will this be any different?

There are so many reasons to succeed with today's AI tools. But what excites me the most is the ability to outsource the grunt work to machines.

With AI tools getting better at office work now, I can lean in to offload the tasks that I would have dreaded just a year ago. Think of feature requests, bug reports, even marketing and content creation can be streamlined to leave only the parts I would like to do and would be best at doing myself, coming up with content ideas, feature ideas, analysing the data and planning for growth.

I have already seen tremendous success in various laborious areas in my day job on this and I think those successes are transferrable to these efforts.

As I go through this - I will discover and create some tools to help me along, I will share these with you, so follow along and stay tuned.

Here are some tools I made and current projects I am working on - yes projects with an s, I want to have my cake and eat it too ;)
